La Tzoumaz
The young and up-coming Valaisan resort of La Tzoumaz nestles against the same mountain as Verbiers; Mont Savolyres. At the same altitude as Verbier (1500m), La Tzoumaz actually enjoys a longer ski season; being on the North-facing slopes. It is possible to ski-in, ski-out from early December all the way through to late-April.
The perfect winter snow resort
As a valley station of the Savoleyres cable-car, it is possible to quickly access a wide variety of ski tows, chair lifts and other cable-cars to all the resorts of the Four Valleys region. In addition, La Tzoumaz also offers a small ski lift for children, a natural ice rink and a floodlit sledge run. As such, it is a perfect resort for families bringing children.
A summertime delight
La Tzoumaz is also perfect for Summertime rest and relaxation. The resort has a tennis court and a heated indoor swimming pool with sauna that is open winter and summer alike. The village is popular with mountain bikers, due to it’s excellent situation on the interconnecting network of Bisse; a gently inclined 19th century drainage system which provides an excellent surface for biking or hiking.
The rambler can enjoy a wide choice of walks through pine and larch forests and alpine meadows, up and through to the neighbouring summits of Mont Gelé and Mont Fort. For anglers, the River fishing is excellent, as is fishing in the lac des Vaux.
